A quick warmup to around 70 degrees Tuesday in The Wilson Times area is only a tease.
A cold front is expected to bring an 80% chance of showers by Tuesday evening, followed by high pressure centered to the northwest bringing in cold temperatures.
Wednesday's high should occur just after midnight, with temperatures falling to around 45 by midmorning. The rain is likely to end then, allowing temperatures to steady for awhile before resuming a fall by late afternoon.
Overnight lows Wednesday and Thursday are forecast to be just below freezing while Thursday's high makes it only to the low 40s.
Another round of showers is due Friday and Saturday but with moderating temperatures.
