Wilson police are searching for a suspect in two armed robberies that happened less than 10 minutes apart Sunday.

Officers responded at 9:36 p.m. at DK Fuel, 1510 Goldsboro St., in reference to a suspicious person with a weapon. Upon arrival, Wilson police talked to the clerk who said the robber entered the store and said, “Give me the money.” The armed robbery was unsuccessful and the subject ran away.

At 9:43 p.m., officers received a call that a robbery had just occurred at City Gas, 2603 Forest Hills Road. The clerk at the second location told police the robber said, “Give me the money” and flashed a black handgun. The robber made off with an unspecified amount of cash.

Police investigated the two incidents and determined they were connected.

The robber is described as a black man wearing a red shirt and blue jeans with a gray and white mask covering his face. No one was injured in either robbery attempt.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Wilson Police Department at 252-399-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 252-243-2255.
