Dylia Lucas helped her Hunt High varsity girls basketball team repeat as Farris & Thomas Holiday Tournament champions last week, making her this week’s Farris & Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Dylia, a 5-foot-9 senior power forward, had four points and seven rebounds in the Lady Warriors’ 55-46 win over Smithfield-Selma in Thursday’s semifinals game. In Saturday’s championship game against Beddingfield, Dylia had five points, six rebounds and two steals in Hunt’s 62-44 win.
The daughter of Rosnetta and William Lucas of Kenly, Dylia has a 3.0 GPA at Hunt, where she takes honors courses. She also takes online courses through Wilson Community College. Dylia also throws shot put for the Lady Warriors track and field team.
She is active at her church, Bethel United Holy Church in Kenly, and works part-time at Kenly 95 Truck Stop.
