Senior guard Collin Guilford led his Greenfield School varsity boys basketball team to three victories last week, making him this week’s Farris & Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Collin had 23 points and six assists to pace the Knights in their 101-56 demolition of Trinity Academy of Raleigh on Tuesday night. The following evening, Guilford pumped in 23 points again as the Knights thumped Raleigh Ravenscroft 102-86 on Wednesday. The 6-foot guard finished his week with 18 points in Greenfield’s 77-68 defeat of Cape Fear Academy of Wilmington on Friday, giving him an average of 21.4 points per game.
The son of Lena Bailey of Winterville and Carlos Guilford of Winterville, Collin has a 3.9 GPA at Greenfield, where he takes all Advanced Placement courses. He is a member of the school’s chapter of National Honor Society and the Spanish Club. Collin previously was in Greenfield’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
He has volunteered his time to help the homeless in Wilson and for the North Carolina Sea Turtle Project. Collin has played AAU basketball for several different clubs.
