The 3-A Big East Conference basketball tournament championship games are now in limbo.

After Wilson County Schools opted to cancel after-school activities Wednesday, scheduled Thursday title games will now be moved to Friday or Saturday.

The Fike boys will play at the highest remaining boys seed, Northern Nash, after beating Hunt 56-42 in the semifinals. The Lady Warriors will oppose either Rocky Mount or Franklinton, also on Northern Nash’s home floor.

In the 2-A Eastern Plains Conference, championship games are set for Friday — including Beddingfield’s girls at Farmville Central — but that could still move to Saturday in Farmville. The SouthWest Edgecombe boys, the No. 2 seed, are set to play No. 1 and defending North Carolina High School Athletic Association 2-A champion Farmville Central.

Also in the 1-A Tar Roanoke Conference, semifinal games involving Wilson Prep’s boys and girls have been moved to Friday at Weldon. Championship games would be held Saturday.

Accordingly, the NCHSAA has elected to move the seeding process to Sunday afternoon.
