Behind a pair of double-doubles from Eric Wynn and Devyn Bullock, Wilson Prep motored to a 76-32 varsity boys basketball victory over visiting Rocky Mount/Wilson DASH home school on Monday.
Wynn had a game-high 17 points to go with 10 rebounds while Bullock pulled 12 boards and scored 10 points as the Tigers rose to 5-1. Nasir Blackston added 16 points and six rebounds while Quay Johnson contributed eight points for WPA, playing at home for the time in four games.
“Guys put on a great performance in front of a sell-out crowd,” said Tiger first-year head coach Anthony Atkinson Jr. “Felt great to play back at home again and our guys didn’t disappoint! We are getting where we want to be as a team but still taking it one day at a time. Proud of my young men!”
Elijah Skinner’s 17 points paced the United while Jacob Dienes added seven points.
Wilson Prep will tip off 1-A Tar Roanoke Conference play Friday at Southeast Halifax.

McNair leads Lady Knights to 38-22 rout at Ahoskie
AHOSKIE — A 20-point effort from eighth grader Serenity McNair led the Greenfield varsity girls basketball team to a 38-22 rout of host Ridgecroft on Monday night.
Adding on four steals, McNair nearly matched the scoring total of the host Rams, while the Lady Knights defense held the opposing team to just 14 points through three quarters.
Kaelyn Wall finished with a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds while Isabelle Parker made her contributions through three key steals in the second half.
Greenfield will travel to Cape Fear Christian in Erwin on Tuesday.

Lady Warriors get first win
Jordan Corbett dropped in 15 points to lead the Hunt girls basketball team to its first victory of the season, a 27-18 triumph over visiting East Wake on Thursday, Dec. 5.
Kentasia Taylor added six points for the Lady Warriors while Audrey Earp and Emma Finch each pulled down eight rebounds.
The Lady Warriors won’t hit the floor again until Jan. 10 when they host Northern Nash in their 3-A Big East Conference opener.
Wilson Christian defeats WCD
GOLDSBORO — The Wilson Christian girls basketball team took down host Wayne Country Day 37-26 on Monday night to improve to 5-1,
The victorious Chargers were led by Hailey Carnes with 10 points. Reagan Barnes chipped in eight points.
Wilson Christian will play Tuesday at Raleigh Christian.
