Wilson Surgical Associates, which has cared for patients in Wilson and surrounding communities for more than two decades, is now part of UNC Rex Healthcare’s North Carolina Surgery.
The practice will be renamed North Carolina Surgery at Wilson, and continue treating patients at its current office location and Wilson Medical Center. Its providers will continue to focus on general surgery cases, such as breast, colon and hernia surgery using laparoscopic techniques. Through its partnership with North Carolina Surgery, the practice’s patients will have easy access to a network of more than three-dozen surgeons who can provide resources for complex cases.
“We are thrilled to partner with a practice that shares our passion for providing excellent care and with a long track record of serving Wilson,” said Dr. Peter Ng, chairman of North Carolina Surgery. “We look forward to supporting our Wilson partners and their patients, and enhancing the care that’s available in Wilson and surrounding communities.”
North Carolina Surgery, previously known as Rex Surgical Specialists, is part of UNC Rex Healthcare and based at its main hospital campus in Raleigh, with satellite locations across Wake and Johnston counties. Its experts include colorectal surgeons, weight-loss surgeons, endocrine surgeons, acute-care surgeons and more.
“Teaming up with North Carolina Surgery will make us a stronger practice and benefit our growing family of patients,” said Dr. George Isaacs, a surgeon with Wilson Surgical and medical director of the Wilson Wound Healing Center. “Their expertise will be a valuable resource as we continue to improve the access and quality of care available in Wilson.”
