RALEIGH — Bobby Evans of Wilson is celebrating his good fortune after he won a $213,945 Cash 5 jackpot.

Evans bought the ticket for Wednesday’s drawing at the Rose Mart on West Raleigh Road in Wilson.

He claimed his prize Friday at N.C. Education Lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $151,366. His ticket beat odds of one in 962,598 to win the jackpot.

Cash 5 is a statewide draw game that gives players the chance to win a jackpot every night. Tickets cost $1 and players can buy tickets at most lottery retailers or through Online Play on the lottery’s website.

Ticket sales raise more than $650 million a year for public education in North Carolina and Wilson County received $4.7 million in lottery funds last year.
