A Wilson man faces drug charges after a Wilson Police Department investigation.

Police served a search warrant Wednesday at 814 Park Ave., Apartment A-4, and seized seven grams each of powder cocaine and marijuana.

Capt. Jeff Boykin said as a result of the search and investigation, officers arrested 29-year-old Travis Armond Melvin. He is charged with felony possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.

Boykin said tips from Wilson residents alerting police to drug activity made the investigation possible.

“All information reported is strictly confidential,” he said. “The Wilson Police Department is dedicated to improving the quality of life for its citizens by following up on information reported to make prosecutable cases.”

Boykin said anyone with information regarding drug cases can contact the department’s drug hotline at 252-293-5333.
