Angel Landrau has been named the new finance director for Wilson County government.
Landrau replaced former director Tiffany Reese, who returned to her home in the western part of the state to join the Gaston County government, officials said.
Landrau, who has worked two years for Wilson County’s finance department as a senior accountant, brings more than 35 years of finance and accounting experience to his leadership role.
“It is a great honor to have this opportunity to lead an excellent financial services staff” said Landrau. “Wilson County government has a solid financial reputation and with the ever-changing world of finance and accounting, I look forward to building on the strengths that we have.”
Landrau holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and economics from Barry University and has completed the Government Finance Officers Association certification.
“Over the last two years, Angel has grown in his role with our financial services team,” said County Manager Denise Stinagle. “He knows our professional family and leadership very well and he has a passion for helping people to understand the complexities of finance.”
Landrau and his wife reside in Wilson.
