TARBORO — Holly Willis, Edgecombe County program technician, was recently named the recipient of the USDA Farm Service Agency District 6 Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2017.
The award recognizes employees who have provided extraordinary customer service within the agency and demonstrated an extra effort to serve customers.
District 6 includes Wilson, Nash, Greene, Edgecombe, Martin, Washington, Tyrrell, Dare, Hyde, Beaufort, Pitt, Craven, Pamlico and Carteret counties.
Debbie Houston, who serves as the FSA district director for District 6, said she was delighted to present the award to such a dedicated employee. Officials said Willis is a prime example of the extraordinary service displayed by FSA employees throughout North Carolina.
As a recipient of the award, Willis will receive a certificate of recognition and a time-off award.

Willis’ primary responsibilities are assisting farmers with market assistance loans, loan deficiency payments and farm loan programs. She also has an administrative and farm records role for the Edgecombe office.
Willis has served on a national jump team to help program specialists with designing the price support software used to process marketing assistance loans for farmers. Willis is a mother of two sons, James, 23 and Noah, 19. She is an active participant and advocate of The Autism Society of North Carolina and Alliance of Hope for suicide loss survivors.
