Wilson Country Club’s Patch Wilkerson tuned for defense of her Wilson County Amateur Women’s championship by pacing the turnout for the September outing of the Wilson Ladies Golf League at Wilson Country Club earlier this week.
The county championship will be contested Saturday and Sunday at Wedgewood Public Golf Course.
In the Wilson Ladies outing, Wilkerson posted a round of 82 and claimed low gross in the First Flight.
Wilkerson was joined by Jamie Denton of Wedgewood and Priscilla Brewer of WCC as other First Flight victors. Denton fired the low net of 67, while Brewer won low putts with 35.
Happy Valley Country Club’s Pat Capps carded low gross of 89 in the Second Flight, while Wedgewood’s Charlene Lewis posted low net of 70. The low putts victor was Wedgewood’s Susan Frazier with 34.
Prevailing in the Third Flight were Lois Edwards of Willow Springs Country Club, low gross (113); Brenda Dickson of Wedgewood, low net (81); and Carol Bass of Wedgewood, low putts (34).
Wedgewood will be the site for the October event on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
Any female golfer from Wilson County is eligible to participate. Club or course membership is not a requirement.
