Wilson is in store for mild winter weather this week as temperatures are forecast to reach or exceed the average high of 53 degrees.

Tuesday's high should reach 58 to 60 degrees under mostly sunny skies and Wilson County can expect mid-60s on Wednesday afternoon, Albert Thomas Jr. explains in this week's installment of The Wilson Times Weathercast.

Showers expected on Wednesday could drop up to a half-inch of rain on the region and a chance of rain could return Saturday.

As winter wears on, days are beginning to get longer again. Thomas notes that Wilson can expect about 2 extra minutes of daylight each day during this week's forecast period.
