WCYAA extends spring registration

Wilson County Youth Athletic Association registrations for baseball, softball, volleyball and soccer for the 2017 season have been extended through Sunday.

Players may register at Omega Sports in Wilson during store hours, at the WCYAA offices in Wilson or by mailing the registration form and check to WCYAA, P.O. Box 10, Lucama, NC, 27851.

The registration fee is $45 per player for baseball and softball and $50 for volleyball and soccer. Omega Sports will only accept checks or money orders.

Baseball and softball practices will begin next week, with the regular season commencing the final week of March. S

occer practices begin March 10, with the regular-season starting on April 8. Volleyball practices get underway March 11, with games beginning one week later.

Softball age divisions will be contested in 8U, 10U and 12 U, with baseball age divisions consisting of Ages 2-4 Co-ed Instructional T-Ball, Ages 5-6 Co-ed T-Ball, 8U Rookie T-Ball, Ages 9-10 Minors and Ages 11-12 Majors.

The age division breakdown for soccer and volleyball will be elementary grades 4-5, middle school grades 6-8 and high school grades 9-12. Players must play in their age division and must be at least nine years of age to register.
