Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s Gamma Beta Omega chapter, along with members from Wilson Community College’s Influential Men Achieving Greatness through Education organization, recently cleaned Pender Street from Jackson Chapel to Calvary as part of the city of Wilson’s Adopt-a-Street Program.

A product of the North Carolina Community College System’s Minority Male Success Initiative, IMAGE is an organization with an intensive focus on minority males aimed at providing resources and support to men at Wilson Community College.

The support provided through IMAGE not only focuses on a students’ academic success but also their emotional and social well-being. Each semester, students have certain requirements and community service is one of them.

This project is in its second year for the sorority.
