Wilson County sheriff’s deputies have captured a man wanted in Virginia on multiple charges including rape and attempted murder.
On Sunday, the sheriff’s office received information from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia regarding an extradition for a suspect, according to Wanda Samuel, sheriff’s office chief of staff. The suspect, 31-year-old Willie Jackson Farley, was believed to be at 9068 Lefty Road near Kenly.
Samuel said the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office had active warrants charging Farley with felony malicious wounding. Authorities said Farley would also be charged with rape, attempted murder and arson.
Wilson County sheriff’s deputies were able to find a vehicle with a Virginia license plate matching the description of the vehicle Farley was driving, Samuel said. Deputies conducted a felony vehicle stop at Harrell Store Road and N.C. 581.
“After several commands, Farley exited the passenger side of the vehicle,” Samuel said.
Farley was taken into custody without incident. He is currently in the Wilson County Detention Center without bond awaiting full extradition by Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
