WCA Blue girls lose 30-20
The Wilson Christian Blue girls basketball team’s first-half offensive struggles proved too much to overcome in a 30-20 loss at home Monday to Lighthouse Christian homeschool team from Raleigh.
The Blue Lady Chargers managed just four points in the first half but outscored Lighthouse 17-11 in the second half. Kate Hoskins scored 13 points to lead Wilson Christian, which plays Friday afternoon at Friendship Christian in Raleigh.
Cyclones fall 34-31 at RMA
ROCKY MOUNT — Community Christian’s boys basketball team came close to its first win of the season but host Rocky Mount Academy pulled out a 34-31 triumph Tuesday.
Rylan Gay led the Cyclones with 13 points while Seth Huston added eight points.
CCS will host Kerr-Vance Academy on Friday.
WCA Gold girls falter 19-7
RALEIGH — The Wilson Christian Gold girls basketball team could not muster a third quarter field goal Tuesday afternoon in dropping a 19-7 outcome to Raleigh Christian.
Sophia Nesbit led the Lady Chargers with four points, while McKenzie Barnes tallied the remaining total.
The Lady Chargers (1-5) visit DASH Homeschool next Tuesday.
