Senior Ty Galloway helped his Hunt High varsity baseball team get off to a great start in 3-A Big East Conference play last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
In the Warriors’ 6-1 victory Tuesday at Northern Nash and their 7-1 win Wednesday at Rocky Mount, Ty went 2 for 7 with a double and three RBIs.
The son of Christy and Robbie Galloway, Ty has a 4.2 weighted GPA at Hunt, where he takes honors courses. He is a member of the school’s chapter of National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes as well as Student Booster Club, Headbands of Hope and Club UNIFY. He also played soccer for the Warriors last fall.
Ty has served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and Special Olympics. He attends Raleigh Road Baptist Church.
He has played for the Dirtbags and Carolina Iron Horses showcase as well as Wilson American Legion Post 13 baseball teams. Ty will continue his academic and baseball careers at the University of Mount Olive, where he plans to major in biology.
