Tim Bizzell concluded an outstanding senior season for the DASH United homeschool boys soccer team last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Tim led the United to the semifinals of the North Carolinians for Home Education Athletic Conference (NCHEAC) state tournament where they lost 3-2 to Asheville Homeschool in double overtime. DASH finished 13-4-2 and was the NCHEAC East Conference champion for the first time in program history. Tim, who scored 16 goals and made 17 assists, was voted the conference MVP by league coaches.
The son of Ricky and Martha Bizzell of Wilson County, Tim has an unweighted GPA of 3.96. He is in the second year of taking college-level courses at Nash Community College.
He is active in Wilson County 4-H Club and, during the summer, was an instructor for GSK Science in the Summer program that is operated by UNC-Chapel Hill’s Morehead Planetarium. Tim taught elementary and middle school students in Wendell in the 2017 program, “The Science of Sports.”
He also was a paid assistant for the North Carolina State University Engineering Camp held this summer at Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf.
Tim also plays soccer for the 99 North Carolina Football Club Premier team.
