Myles Cyrus helped his Fike High varsity boys soccer team get off to a winning start in 3-A Big East Conference play last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Myles, a senior forward, had an assist in the Golden Demons’ 6-3 win at Franklinton on Wednesday, then scored two goals in Fike’s 5-2 victory at home against Southern Nash on Friday. For the season, Myles has a team-high 10 goals to go with four assists.
The son of Stephanie and Kelvin Cyrus of Wilson, Myles has a 4.41 GPA at Fike, where he is ranked 11th in his senior class while taking a full International Baccalaureate course load.
Myles is a member of Fike’s chapter of National Honor Society, an officer in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and YMCA Youth and Government, for which he serves as president of judicial.
Myles, also a standout baseball player for the Demons, plays travel baseball for the Rawlings Prospects of Raleigh and travel soccer for the Wilson Youth Soccer Association Explosion.
He attended Governor’s School this past summer, studying social science, and is active as a member and volunteer at Wave Church in Wilson.
