Mason Lee helped his Fike High boys soccer team win the 3-A Big East Conference tournament last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Mason, a junior defender, scored a pair of goals the top-seeded Golden Demons defeated archrival Hunt for a third time this season, 4-2 in Tuesday’s semifinals. In the conference championship game Thursday against Franklinton, Mason connected on his penalty kick in the shootout won by the Demons for a perfect 12-0 run through Big East play.
The son of Dana and David Lee of Wilson, Mason has a 3.5 GPA at Fike, where he is a member of National Honor Society, STEAM Club and Student Booster Club. Mason also plays basketball and baseball for the Demons.
He works part-time for Wilson Parks and Recreation Department and has served as a volunteer for the WPRD’s Christmas Train of Lights and Statewide Athletics Committee youth basketball tournaments.
Mason played for the Wilson Elite travel basketball team.
