JuliAnne Etheridge played a pivotal role in a pair of shutout victories for her Hunt High varsity softball as the Lady Warriors moved closer to a 3-A Big East Conference regular-season championship last week, making her this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
A junior catcher, JuliAnne slugged a home run in Hunt’s 6-0 win Tuesday at Fike then collected a double and an RBI as the Lady Warriors blanked Northern Nash 4-0 at home Thursday to remain unbeaten and in first place in the Big East. JuliAnne threw out a would-be base stealer in each game.
The daughter of Melissa and Vernon Etheridge of Lucama, JuliAnne has a 3.9 weighted GPA at Hunt, where she takes honor courses and is a member of the school’s chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Future Farmers of America as well as Club UNIFY.
She works part time for Wilson Parks and Recreation Department and is active at Sharpsburg Baptist Church.
