Junior guard Jimmy Forte continued to be a scoring machine for his Community Christian School varsity boys basketball team last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
In the Cyclones’ three games last week, Jimmy averaged 33.3 points and 8.3 rebounds while making 18 3-pointers. For the season, he is averaging 30.8 points per game and has made 44 percent of his 3-point attempts while leading CCS to a 13-9 record.
The son of April Lucas and Jimmy Forte of Wilson, Jimmy has a 3.0 GPA at Community Christian after transferring from Wilson Christian Academy, where he played basketball and baseball.
Jimmy volunteers his time for an assortment of functions at CCS as well as for the Upward basketball program at Peace Church, where he attends.
Jimmy plans to play travel basketball for Team Trezl, sponsored by former North Edgecombe High star and current member of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers Montrezl Harrell.
