Senior Jameson Lucas helped his Hunt High varsity boys basketball team win the Farris & Farris Holiday Tournament last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Jameson, a 6-foot-1 forward, scored 14 points, all in the second half, to help the Warriors top Fike 64-59 in Wednesday’s championship game. He totaled 29 points and 12 rebounds in Hunt’s two wins, including a 67-63 triumph over Beddingfield in Tuesday’s semifinals.
The son of Candace and James Lucas of Wilson, Jameson has a 3.0 GPA at Hunt where he is a member of DECA Club and The Gentleman’s Agreement. Jameson previously sang in the Hunt chorus and played football for four years for the Warriors. He intends to run track this spring at Hunt.
He plays drums in the band at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Fremont and has served as a volunteer coach for Wilson Police Department’s Police Athletic League junior football teams.
He plans to major in business administration in college.
