Davis Currin played a strong role in his Greenfield School varsity boys soccer team’s start to the season last week, making him the first Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week of the school year.
Davis, the Knights’ center back and senior captain, helped them shut out Fayetteville Freedom Christian 9-0 in the first game of the Dr. Robert T. Stone Memorial Showcase on Thursday and gain a 3-3 draw with Calvary Day on Friday. A three-year starter for Greenfield, Davis contributed to eight shutouts by the Knights on the way to the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A title last year.
The son of Monica and Martin Currin of Sims, Davis had a 4.1 GPA as a junior. He will take Advanced Placement English and environmental science this year and plans to play tennis for the Knights in the spring.
Davis has participated in the Students Against Violence Everywhere and Fellowship of Christian Athletes club at Greenfield as well as in the Chick-fil-A Leadership Development and YMCA Youth Leaders Institute programs.
Davis has served as a volunteer with ARC and at the Greenfield youth soccer camp in addition to being a volunteer youth soccer coach for Wilson Parks and Recreation Department. He plays for the Wilson Youth Soccer Association Explosion U17 boys team.
