Senior Bryce Johnson helped his Hunt High boys swim team win its third straight 3-A Big East Conference meet last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Bryce was part of the Warriors’ victorious 400-yard freestyle relay tandem and their runner-up 200 freestyle quartet. Individually, he picked up points by finishing fourth in the 100 freestyle.
The son of Kirstin and Steven Johnson of Sims, Bryce has a 4.6 GPA and is ranked No. 10 in his class at Hunt where he takes a full International Baccalaureate course load. He is a member of the school’s chapter of Future Farmers of America, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and National Science Honor Society as well as the Science Club.
Bryce worked over the summer as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. He hopes to attend North Carolina State University and study veterinary science.
