Senior Avery Vester played a central role in her Greenfield School tennis team’s success this season, making her this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Playing at the No. 1 singles and doubles spots this season, Avery helped the Lady Knights reach the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A playoffs where Greenfield won its first postseason match since 2012.
The daughter of Suzanne and Chris Vester of Nashville, Avery has a 4.83 GPA at Greenfield, where she is president of National Honor Society and Spanish Club and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy. Avery also plays basketball for the Lady Knights.
Avery volunteers her time with a mentoring group at her church, Englewood Baptist in Rocky Mount, and works part-time as a switchboard operator for Hubert Vester Auto Group. She plans to study graphic design in college.
