83 The record number of high school girls soccer teams participating in the 2018 Brittany Willis Memoria Scholarship Soccer Showcase on Friday and Saturday at three venues in Wilson.

18 teams played in the inaugural Brittany Willis Memorial Scholarship Soccer Showcase in March 2005

54 matches will be played over two days at three venues

48 matches will be played at J. Burt Gillette Athletic Complex

6 matches will be played away from Gillette, including five at Fike, the most it will have ever hosted

1 match will be played at Hunt, the first time it will be used as a venue for The Brittany

19 matches will be played Friday

35 games are set for Saturday

25 teams will be playing a game each day

5 defending state champions are in the field — Wilson Christian, NCCSA 2-A; Kerr-Vance, NCISAA 1-A; Franklin Academy, NCHSAA 1-A; Carrboro, NCHSAA 2-A, and Cardinal Gibbons, NCHSAA 4-A

2 teams were runners-up in their respective classifications last spring — Halifax Academy in NCISAA 1-A and Corinth Holders in NCHSAA 3-A

8 teams — Hunt, Fike, Beddingfield, Greenfield, Community Christian, North Johnston, Wilmington Laney and Raleigh Cardinal Gibbons — will be making their 14th girls showcase appearances

4 teams — Hunt, Fike, Beddingfield and Community Christian — have played in every Brittany, boys and girls, since it began
