A Wilson teen faces multiple charges including attempted first-degree murder in connection to a Sunday night shooting, police say.
Authorities arrested 19-year-old Phonta Ra’heem Watson Tuesday after he was found at a home on Candlewood Drive, police said.
Shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday, police were flagged down by a victim who was driving on the 500 block of Harrison Drive, when their vehicle was struck by several bullets, according to Sgt. Stuart Haste.
Haste said the victim, who was not injured, provided a description of the suspected vehicle. Police said officers working the case were able to identify the suspect as Watson based off a diligent investigation.
Watson is also charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling/moving vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon, interference with an electronic monitoring device and two counts of felony probation violations.
He is currently in the Wilson County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.
Police ask anyone with information regarding this case to contact them at the Wilson Police Department at 252-399-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 252-243-2255.
