While I read Brie Anne Handgraaf’s survivor story (“Victims further violated by flawed reporting system,” Thursday) I was moved by the clarity and measured description. While I, a man, can never feel your pain, I can empathize and understand your sense of betrayal by a system you thought would protect you or would deal with the one who violated you.
I was saddened though at the end of the story when you as a “journalist” fell in to the “guilty until proven innocent” philosophy.
While I agree much must be discovered regarding the current uproar regarding sexual abuse and claims against Judge Kavanaugh, I was disappointed that the otherwise well-written and thought-provoking column ended with a petty, unfounded comment.
