Streaking Bulldogs sweep Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. — The winning streak for the Barton College men’s volleyball team reached six matches with a 25-21, 25-15, 25-22 NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas conquest of host Limestone College on Friday evening.

The Bulldogs of head coach Jeff Lennox vaulted to 3-0 in the conference and to 6-2 overall. In the three league matches, Barton has not dropped a set.

Senior outside hitter Vasilis Mandilaris and junior right side hitter Angelos Mandilaris each registered 14 kills. Angelos Mandilaris, the current conference player of the week boosted his conference-leading kill total to 113. Vasilis Mandilaris hit for a .444 percentage.

Complementing the Vasilis brothers was junior setter Oscar Fiorentino, who dished out 33 assists. Senior outside hitter Aleksa Brkovic notched 14 digs.

The Saints hit for just an .173 percentage and were paced by Jordan Barreto with eight kills.

The Bulldogs stay on the roaad for a conference test in Tigerville, South Carolina, on Saturday against North Greenville University at 2 p.m.
