ELM CITY — Sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who broke into storage units and stole televisions and other personal items earlier this month.
The break-ins happened around 4 p.m. March 6 at Quality Mini Storage, 907 N. Parker St. Wanda Samuel, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office chief of staff, said a black man driving an early 2000s model Chevrolet Tahoe SUV used bolt cutters to cut the locks from several storage units.
The thief removed items including TVs, a window air conditioning unit and camping equipment, Samuel said.
Deputies released surveillance images from Quality Mini Storage showing the white Chevy Tahoe with chrome rims, white painted side mirrors, a sunroof and dark-tinted windows.
Authorities hope someone who recognizes the vehicle will provide tips allowing investigators to identify a suspect in the thefts.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office at 252-237-2118.
