Members and prospective members of the Beddingfield Junior Optimist Club visited the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina in Greenville last month. Executive Director Meghan Woolard presented the history and led a tour. Club members donated a collection of paper supplies, a box full of collected pop tabs, a brunch of chicken biscuits and doughnuts and service hours of labeling and stocking the food pantry, cleaning and organizing the toy room, cleaning the kitchen and dining area, clearing out broken closet items and broken toys and cleaning baths, the parlor and hallways. Junior Optimist members said they enjoyed their service time while gaining the reward of supporting those in the fight for their lives as they are away from their own homes during treatment periods.
