Springfield’s boys basketball team pulled out a 40-36 triumph Tuesday at Speight as Daidien Sutton scored 14 points and Shannon Atkinson had 11 points to lead the Wildcats.

Host Community Christian dropped a 43-33 boys basketball outcome Tuesday against Rocky Mount Academy, sending the Cyclones to their fourth loss without a win.
CCS, which trailed 20-13 at the half, was paced by Seth Huston with 15 points. The Cyclones will host Faith Christian of Rocky Mount on Thursday in Williamson Gym on the Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf campus.
Wilson Prep nudges Greenfield 54-52
The Wilson Prep boys basketball team produced a 54-52 victory on the road at Greenfield on Tuesday.
Jordan Vick led Greenfield with 20 points.

WCA Blue girls routed by Lighthouse
Trailing by two points after one quarter, the Wilson Christian “Blue” girls basketball team was stymied by not scoring a basket in the second quarter en route to a 37-10 loss to Lighthouse Christian on Tuesday.\
Hailey Carnes and Kate Haskins each had four points for the Lady Chargers (1-3). Patsy Price tallied the other two points.
WCA visits Goldsboro Faith Christian on Friday.
Forest Hills rolls over Toisnot
The Forest Hills girls basketball team won its second game in as many tries with a thorough 51-6 win over Toisnot on Monday afternoon.
Kennedi Smith led the Lady Bucks with 15 points to pace three Forest Hills performers in double figures. D’miyah McGuire and Kaitlyn Adams each had 12 points. Adams handed out four assists.
Forest Hills is home to Darden next Monday.
Forest Hills gets by Toisnot 45-42
A Kyshon Atkinson 3-pointer hit the backboard and off the front rim Monday afternoon, sending the Forest Hills boys basketball team to a 45-42 conquest of Toisnot.
Davon Jones poured in 28 points for the Bucks (2-0), while Stephon Jenkins had five.
Atkinson’s 15 points led the Hawks as Devonte Thomas contributed eight points.
Forest Hills hosts Darden next Monday in a battle of unbeaten teams.
Kirby, Vick lead Knights past Faith
ROCKY MOUNT — The Greenfield boys basketball team remained unbeaten with a 61-51 conquest of host Faith Christian on Monday.
Matt Kirby poured in 21 points while Jordan Vick added 19 as the Knights improved to 6-0.
