Southern soul music festival in Rocky Mount July 13-14

The second DownEast Music Festival will head to Rocky Mount for a weekend full of live performances from world-renowned recording artists July 13-14 at Brown Auditorium and the Rocky Mount Municipal Stadium. The event is presented by Doable, the City of Rocky Mount in collaboration with Foxy 107.1, Power 95.5 and Movin 93.3.

Headliners include Sunshine Anderson, Roy C, Lakeside, Tucka and many more.

Comedian Grave Digger will host the exclusive indoor VIP meet-and-greet and after-party sponsored by Ciroc on July 13 at Brown Auditorium. Friday’s artists include Maurice Wynn, Black Diamond, Wilson Meadows, Karen Wolfe and J-Wonn.

On Saturday, July 14, there will be a fun, family-oriented outdoor music festival hosted by DJ Heavy and music by

DJ Starchild. The Music Festival will showcase a blend of music from Sunshine Anderson, Lakeside, Tucka, Sir Charles Jones, Roy C, Glenn Jones, Lenny Williams, Big Pokey, Theodis Ealey, Big G, Lacee and Omar Cunningham.

Additional highlights will include a vendor pavilion, exclusive VIP areas and much more. With an estimated attendance of more than 5,000 people, this charitable, community celebration seeks to be the largest of its kind in the eastern North Carolina area.

Event proceeds will support ITSDOABLE programs including our summer basketball camp, school backpack giveaways, winter wear drive, hunger relief initiatives, scholarships, mentoring programs and other community events. ITSDOABLE will also be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Rocky Mount Boys & Girls Club as an extension of community support.
