Authorities are searching for a 37-year-old Wilson woman reported missing Monday night.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has activated a Silver Alert for Christine Bynum, also known as Christina and Ball Ball, who was last seen at a home on the 800 block of Belmont Avenue in Wilson.

Bynum is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. She was wearing a blue whitewashed coat with rips on the back, whitewashed jeans and brown calf-high boots when she disappeared, according to the Silver Alert announcement. She may be carrying a bag of clothes.

Silver Alerts are issued for people of any age who are believed to be suffering from dementia or another cognitive impairment. They are considered to be missing and endangered.

The Wilson Police Department notified state officials of Bynum's disappearance. Anyone who has seen Bynum or has information on her current whereabouts is asked to call Wilson County Emergency Communications at 252-237-8300.
