The Wilson County Board of Education fine tuned seven policies on first readings at a special meeting Monday.
“All of these are first reads, and they will be coming before us at our meeting next Monday,” said Christine Fitch, board chairwoman.
Policies discussed included class rankings, immunization and health requirements for school admission, assignment to classes, student insurance program, authority of school personnel, parental involvement in student behavior issues, and grants and funding for special projects.
Two policies, one on translating policies for students and parents and a second on unsafe school choice transfer were removed from the agenda to be clarified before coming back before the board on a first reading.
For information only, the board read through administrative regulations on grouping students for differentiated instruction and use of seclusion and restraint in schools.
One administrative regulation on unsafe school choice transfer was removed for further clarification. Administrative regulations do not require board approval.
The board will hold its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the board meting room in the WCS central office at 113 NE Tarboro St. in downtown Wilson.
