The Salvation Army of Wilson will hold a grand opening celebration for its newly renovated facilities from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 316 S. Tarboro St.

A free lunch will be served from a Salvation Army emergency disaster mobile feeding unit and advisory board members and staff will lead guests on tours of the facilities, which include the Salvation Army Family Store, social services office and food pantry, and The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club. Community partners will be there to highlight the wrap-around social services offered for people in need in the Wilson community.

“We invite the community to have lunch with us, shop in the family store and see the work of The Salvation Army in our community,” said Montresse “Chon” Ferrell, director of The Salvation Army of Wilson Service Center. “We truly appreciate the community for faithfully supporting us and are excited to showcase the impact of their support.”
