The Wilson Youth Soccer Association Explosion 12U Boys team halted a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 conquest of North Carolina FC 07 Red South on Saturday at Gillette Soccer Complex.
Christopher Rodriguez got the Explosion started with an unassisted goal in the 12th minute. After the Red South tied the score in the 24th minutes, WYSA went back in front to stay when Ben Mosley finished a pass from Rodriguez in the 38th minute. Seven minutes later, Rodriguez notched his second goal, this one off an assist by Jayden Moses, allowing the Explosion to survive a 56th-minute goal by NCFC.
Henry Daniel made eight saves in goal for the Explosion while Angel Rodriguez had seven blocks in the field.
The Explosion, now 2-4-0 in the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association 12U Boys Open East First Division, will host NCFC 06 Red South on Friday at 7 p.m. at Gillette.
