The Western theme provided a shootout in the recent Ladies Member-Member golf tournament at Wilson Country Club.
The duo of Beth Rhyne-Patch Wilkinson combined for four birdies to card a 1-under-par 71 over the par 36-36—72 WCC layout and seize the gross championship.
Mary Beth Coyte-Janet Rehm survived a four-hole card playoff to claim the net top finish with a 7-under-par 65.
In the gross competition, Rhyne birdied the par-3 layouts at Nos. 3 and 11. Wilkinson’s birdies came on the par-5, No. 12 and the par-4, No. 16.
Coyte-Rehm were joined by Barbara Biddle-Jean Pochis and Priscilla Brewer-Lisa Matthews with rounds of 65.
The card playoff began on the No. 1-handicap hole, the par-4 4th. Brewer-Matthews was eliminated.
The playoff continued on the par-4, No. 12 — the No. 2 handicap hole. The remaining two teams halved there as well on the par-4, No. 1 — the No. 3-handicap hole. Coyte-Rehm then prevailed on the par-4, No. 18 — the No. 4 handicap hole — with a net 5.
Brewer won prizes for closest-to-the-pin on the par-3, No. 6 layout, and for the straightest drive on No. 13. Matthews holed the longest putt on No. 10.
