Matthew Flint shared this photo from the Hackney Brothers Body Co. collection, which he currently maintains at Barton College's Hackney Library. In the image, utility trucks, trucks, vehicle chassis and school buses are shown at the Wilson business on July 23, 1938. In 1854, Hackney and Sons was organized by Willis N. Hackney, as a carriage shop in Wilson. In 1877, the company became known as Hackney Brothers, one of the largest manufacturers of buggies and wagons in the South. The Wilson Times is publishing historical photos of Wilson County life and landmarks in this space each day. To share your snapshots, email the picture and caption to Lori Parrish at email@example.com with the subject line Remember When or bring it to the Times office at 126 Nash St. W during regular business hours.
