Founding members of the North Carolina Highway Patrol are pictured in this 1929 photo, which Gov. Roy Cooper's office shared to mark the law enforcement agency's 88th anniversary this month. The first Highway Patrol class graduated on July 1, 1929 and included one captain, nine lieutenants and 27 patrolmen. The Wilson Times is publishing historical photos of Wilson County life and landmarks in this space each day. To share your snapshots, email the picture and caption to Lori Parrish at email@example.com with the subject line Remember When or bring it to the Times office at 126 Nash St. W during regular business hours.
