First Fridays on the Lawn kicked off its 2019 season July 5 with an amazing performance by Charlotte-based R&B group On The Edge to an enthusiastic audience in the Edna Boykin Cultural Center, which is the rain venue for First Fridays.
Mayor Bruce Rose opened the show with welcoming remarks aimed at downtown Wilson and a special tribute to military members, veterans, first responders, police and firefighters with the singing of the national anthem by a member of On The Edge and presentation of the flags.
The three-hour show rocked from start to finish and dancing in the aisles was the norm.
