ProMusic Conservatory will kick off a celebration of its 20th anniversary on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. with a concert presented by Ed Stephenson and the Paco Band of Raleigh. The band is a Spanish music and nuevo flamenco ensemble that will take the audience on a musical journey across Spain and more.
The concert starts at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. However, the event begins at 6 p.m. with Café Musicale serving sandwiches, salad, tacos and homemade desserts.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at ProMusic, 105 Nash St., or at the door. ProMusic Conservatory was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community music school in August 1998. The school has served more than 2,000 individuals through lessons, classes, ensembles and summer camps.
Highlights over the years include five ProMusic Chorister tours, including a 10-day tour of Ireland in 2012. Other special events have included An Evening in Vienna and An Evening in Paris buffet concerts that featured students. Various accomplishments will be highlighted at specific events scheduled through April 6.
