Emily Brook Nguyen of Rock Ridge and Matthew Brandon Proctor of Wilson were united in marriage April 6 in a 5 p.m. ceremony at The Howard House in Dunn. The Rev. Tony Moore officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Trung and Denise Nguyen of Rock Ridge and the granddaughter of Carolyn Davis and the late Ralph Davis and Tony and Rose Nguyen of Wilson. A graduate of Hunt High School, she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Barton College. She is employed as a CNA with Dr. Daniel Michalak at Wilson OB/GYN.

The groom is the son of Jan and John Lubbehusen and Al and Stephanie Proctor of Wilson. He is the grandson of Jackie and George Taylor of Wilson, the late Louise Ellis of Wilson, and Dosia Proctor of Goldsboro and the late Gene A. Proctor. He graduated from Hunt High School and serves in the United States Marine Corps.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an A-line gown of royal organza fashioned with a fitted, diamonte-encrusted lace sweetheart bodice and layered tulle skirt. The mid-cut back zipped under sparkling crystal buttons. She wore her mother’s opal ring and her twin sister’s anklet. For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered, fingertip veil with 2-inch wide horsehair edge that complemented the cascading horsehair overlays of tulle.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of white hydrangeas, blush roses, waxflower and open spray roses encircled with silver dollar eucalyptus. The stems were wrapped in sheer ribbon and embellished with pearl pins.

Aimee Nguyen of Rock Ridge, twin sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a strapless, sky blue chiffon gown.

Bridesmaids were Taylor Murray; Kayla Nguyen, sister-in-law of the bride; Maddi Lamm, stepsister of the groom; Taylor Baker, sister of the groom; and Katie Nguyen, sister of the bride. They wore sky blue chiffon gowns styled with a halter top.

The groom’s father, Al Proctor, was best man.

Groomsmen were John Lubbehusen, stepfather of the groom; Alex Nguyen, brother of the bride; Drew Lubbehusen, stepbrother of the groom; Hunter Baker, brother-in-law of the groom; and Brandon Krob.

Wedding director was Elizabeth Willoughby.

Victoria Gaddy was register attendant.

A reception at The Howard House followed the ceremony. Hosts were the bride’s parents. DJ was Grant Roberson. The bride and groom had their first dance to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Haley Reinhart.

The groom’s parents and stepparents were hosts for a rehearsal dinner at Becky’s Log Cabin in Smithfield.

The couple will make their home in Oahu, Hawaii.

March 2: A Hawaiian-themed bridal shower was given by the bride’s family and friends.

March 14: A bridal shower was hosted by the bride’s co-workers at Wilson OB-GYN.

March 17: The groom’s family hosted a “Lucky in Love” bridal shower.
