Re: “Lawsuit opens new front in state’s war on gerrymandering,” guest editorial by The Fayetteville Observer, Tuesday:

Drawing up voting districts, a comment by the writer stuck out like a sore thumb. Stating, “An independent commission should be doing that work, free from political influence from any direction.”

I wish the writer would inform his readers from whence this commission is going to originate. Does he have some means of connection with Camelot and Utopia?

I would venture to say that a search starting with the U.S. Supreme Court to a local magistrate would not produce a quorum free of political influence; judges are whoever.

If you disagree, check back with the Judge Kavanaugh fiasco. Did you notice political influence in those hearings?

There is no such animal as a group of citizens free of political influence, unless they are patients in an insane asylum.
