Police are searching for a man wanted in a Sunday shooting.

Police responded to a 10:58 a.m. shots-fired call to the 700 block of Christman Street. When officers arrived, they spoke to 40-year-old Roderick D. Artis, who said 28-year-old Traquan Jenkins shot at him while he was walking. He was not injured.

Investigating officers obtained warrants on Jenkins for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, shooting a firearm in the city limits and possession of a firearm by a felon.

As of press time Tuesday, police were still actively searching for Jenkins.

Police ask anyone with information regarding Jenkins’ whereabouts to contact the Wilson Police Department at 252-399-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 252-243-2255.
