Police: Man treated for gunshot to his leg

Police are investigating a shooting that left a Wilson man injured Tuesday evening.

Shortly before 9 p.m., officers were dispatched to Wilson Medical Center regarding a person who had been shot. When police arrived, they found 19-year-old Arion T. Rountree suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg, according to Sgt. Steve Stroud.

Rountree told police that he was walking in the area of Selma Street toward Belmont Avenue when he heard a gunshot and then felt pain in his leg, Stroud said.

Police said Rountree was not able to provide any suspect descriptions.
