Two men have been charged in connection to a shooting that occurred earlier this month on Stantonsburg Circle.
Wilson police arrested 18-year-old Jamil S. Barnes of Wilson and charged him with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Marquis R. Cherry, 35, of Wilson, was also arrested on a charge of acting as an accessory before the fact.
On Dec. 3, police responded to an 11:41 a.m. shots-fired call in the 1100 block of Stantonsburg Circle. Witnesses told police that several individuals were walking and fired at a vehicle that was driving through the area, according to Sgt. Steve Stroud. No one was injured as a result of the shooting.
Barnes and Cherry were each placed in the Wilson County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
