NASHVILLE — Nash Stop the Pipeline, a chapter of the Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League and the Alliance to Protect Our People and Places We Live, has organized a community walk Saturday along the route of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.

The walk will be through the Nash County community of Elm Grove, site of the ancestral home of Gov. Roy Cooper. It will begin at 11 a.m. with a prayer service, speakers and a water ceremony at noon. The walk will start at the new bridge where Little Sapony Creek crosses Old Bailey Highway just south of Nashville. Parking will be available at 3226 Old Bailey Highway.

The prayer service at noon will be at 4135 Old Bailey Highway at the former site of the Deans School, which Cooper’s father attended.
